    Cumberland Coal Corporation, P.O. Box 2007, Pikeville KY 41502 is applying to the Virginia Division of Mined land Reclamation for a Renewal of PERMIT No. 1102408, in order to continue the operations at the following location.
     Nine Mile Spur #7 surface operation is located on the Appalachia quadrangle. The permit has 3 NPDES outfalls which would discharge into Callahan Creek. The outfalls controls surface runoff from the operational area consisting of 69.20 acres.   The discharge locations may be viewed on the Surface Water Hydrology Map, which is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.  The discharge resulting from the permitted operation is existing.
    Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of July 17, 2026 submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
