APPLICATION NUMBER: 1011856

Paramont Contura, LLC is applying for bond reduction on Permit No. 1102197 located in Wise County 4.3 miles southeast of Pound on Bold Camp Mountain. This permit consists of 201.35 acres which are bonded under the Virginia Coal Surface Mining Reclamation Fund (Pool Bond) for $611,600 in the form of insurance surety. As provided by 4VAC25-130-800.40 of the Virginia Coal Surface Mining Reclamation Regulations, the Applicant is requesting a bond reduction of $227,000 on increment number(s) 1, consisting of 201.35 acres.

This bond reduction request is based on the following Phase II reclamation: The completion of backfilling and regrading of the permit in September of 2023, revegetation in September of 2023 and tree planting in February of 2024.

Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of June 12, 2026 submit written comments or objections concerning this bond reduction, and may also request, in writing, that Mined Land Repurposing hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
