MASTER TROOPER CURTIS CLINT HENSLEY

Master Trooper Curtis Clint Hensley, Virginia State Police (Retired) age 81, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at his home with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Russell Hensley; a son, Craig Hensley (April) of Sutherland, VA; a daughter, Amy Hensley Smith (Chris) of North Dinwiddie, VA; four grandchildren, Kaylee, Alexis, Grant and Clint; a great grandson, Asher; and brother-in-law, Johnny Russell (Dagmar) of North Dinwiddie, VA.
Curtis grew up in Wise County, VA. He entered the Virginia State Police in 1969 and after graduating basic school in 1970 in Richmond, VA, he transferred and was stationed in Dinwiddie Co., VA. where he met his wife and they married in 1972. Curtis retired from the Safety Division after 35 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, hunting and his beloved family.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Clint Hensley and Ruth Wells Hensley-Cox; and his daughter, Laura Gayle Hensley.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Monday, at the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in Pine Grove Baptist Church, 22218 Dabney Mill Road, Petersburg, VA 23803 with burial to be held following with honors by the Virginia State Police in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd., Petersburg, VA 23805.
