ANNA LOIS "BOOTSIE" AUSTIN

Appalachia, Virginia - Anna Lois “Bootsie” Austin, 95, of Appalachia, Virginia went home to be with the Lord at her home surrounded by her children on Friday February 13, 2026.  Lois worked for Appalachia Insurance Agency in Appalachia for 30 years.  She also served as election chief at the polls at Appalachia High School for many years.  Lois bled Blue and Gold, always going to watch her beloved Appalachia Bulldogs play ball.
         Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lewis Austin; parents, Walter and Bertha (Bentley) Hall; sisters, Ruth Hall, Pebble (Claude) Clark, Joan (Bill) Comprosky; brother, William Hall; niece and nephew, Cary and Robin Clark.
         Lois is survived by her daughter, Kim Whitten of Manassas; sons, Cecil (Andrea) Austin and Roger Austin both of Appalachia; grandchildren, Taylor (Tyler) Nolan of Maryland, Kaylee (Zach) Rogich of West Virginia, Abigail (Alex) Barnett of Jonesborough, Kyle (Lauren) Whitten of Manassas, and Cami (Noah) Adams of Big Stone Gap; great grandsons, Eli Kade Rogich and Baby Adams arriving in July; brother, Walt (Bea) Hall of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Carol Hall of Michigan; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.  Mamaw Bootsie was the life of the party and she will be missed dearly.
         The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, February 17 at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home with services following in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. David Rose and Dr. Nick Brewer.  Burial will follow in the Glencoe Cemetery, Big Stone Gap.  Pallbearers will be: Kyle Whitten, Zach Rogich, Tyler Nolan, Noah Adams, Josh Comprosky, and Andrew Comprosky.
