SHARON A. CANALES (CLISSO)

Sharon A. Canales (Clisso) passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026.
Sharon was born on April 12, 1947, the youngest of seventeen children, to Pete and Allie Clisso (Rossi) in Norton, Virginia. She spent many years devoted to raising her family in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before returning to Wise, Virginia, where she enjoyed her retirement surrounded by family and loved ones.
She is survived by her longtime loving partner, Tommy Hale; her children, Janie Koats, Angela Blount, Jerry Canales (Sue), and Marty Canales; eleven grandchildren, Alex Terres, Jonathon Welch, Taylor Blount, Carmen Blount, Alyssa Canales, Andrew Canales, Alexandra VanderBie (Ed), Ava Canales, Lukas Fountain (Ashley), Katelyn Canales, and Shane Canales; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Connie Day. Sharon leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a host of other relatives who will cherish her memory.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Allie Clisso, and fifteen brothers and sisters.
Sharon found joy in shopping, visiting flea markets, and savoring a good cup of coffee. One of her greatest pleasures was traveling the Atlantic coast of Florida and spending time with her partner, Tommy, creating memories together wherever they went.
Sharon will be remembered for her love of family, her kind spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
