NORTON, VA – Brad Absher, 55, died Monday, November 18, 2024. He was born in Sandusky, Oh. and moved to Norton 51 years ago. He was a former employee of Haliburton Industries and was currently working for Chemstream in Ohio. He attended the Esserville Community Church. He was a member of the Norton Fire Department for over 21 years. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed cooking for them all. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Absher.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Absher of Norton, Va.; his children, Courtney Sexton and her significant other, Zack Roberts of Norton, Va., Zachary Sexton and his wife Nicole of Norton, Va., Cameron Absher of Wise, Va., Elizabeth Absher of Norton, Va., Zachary Absher of Norton, Va.; a bonus daughter, Allison Cutshall and her husband Phillip of Greenville, Tn.; grandchildren, Carly Lintz, Brianna Bullard, Paxton Sexton, Gabriel Sexton, Autumn Sexton, Roman Sexton and Lilly Absher; his mother, Wanda Mullins of Norton, Va.; a brother, Mike Lintz of Norton, Va.; sisters, Tina Sifford and her husband Jeff of St. Paul, Va., Celeste Hash and her husband Jarrod of Norton, Va., Connie Hessong and her husband Buck of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Lesa Salyers and her husband Stacy of Norton, Va.; mother-in-law, Phyllis Owens and her children, Mike, Jimmy and Doug; several nieces, nephews, family, friends and his fire department family.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Danny Smith officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 11 am Monday, November 25, 2024, at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton. Pallbearers will be members of the Norton Fire Department. Honorary pallbearer will be Eddie Collins.
