NORTON, VA - In the early morning on November 14, 2024, Ankrum peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord.
Ankrum (AKA Crumb) Blair was born on January 17, 1943, to Johnny Blair and Mable Coleman Blair in Norton Va. He was a graduate of South Side High School. He was a US Air Force Veteran 1961-1962 served during the Vietnam War and was honorable discharged.
Ankrum accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. A member of the Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Ankrum worked in restaurants as manager in Nashville Tennessee for several years. Later he moved back to Norton where Head Start of Wise Va. employed him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Mable Blair, two brothers Johnny Blair Jr. and Robert Blair. Two sisters, Mary Ann Gaymon and Grace Livingston
Ankrum leaves memories to be cherished by his loving sisters Irene Prinkleton and Mabel Andrews ( Sammie), a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 pm Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with U.S. Air Force Funeral Honors Team and Reverend Leroy Cain, Jr. officiating. The burial will be at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN.
