PUBLIC NOTICE - Solicit input on the 2024-2025 Budget of the Norton City Schools

PUBLIC NOTICE

The City Council of the City of Norton, Virginia will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 6:00 PM in the Municipal Council Chambers located at 618 Virginia Avenue, N.W., Norton, Virginia. The purpose of the hearing is to solicit input on the 2024-2025 Budget of the Norton City Schools which totals $14,380,126.52. The Proposed School Budget includes the Operational Fund in the amount of $12,284,037.29, of which $3,076,885 is locally appropriated funds, the Textbook Fund in the amount of $585,298.56, of which $29,356 is locally appropriated funds, the Early Retirement Plan Fund in the amount of $44,532, the Food Services Fund of $930,788.66, and the Capital Project Fund of $535,470.01. Copies of the proposed budget are available for inspection Monday through Friday between 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. in the City Manager's Office. All attendance and comments at the meeting are encouraged and welcome.

The City of Norton in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 US.C.§§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
