ROBERT (BOB) HERNDON

Robert (Bob) Carl Herndon Sr., Norton, VA., 95, loving father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, Korean war veteran, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Norton Community Hospital. Bob was born in Norton Va, and the son of the late Maxwell and Maude Herndon. Proceeding his death was his wife of 63 years, Frances Elizabeth Pardue Herndon.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Cindy Stutts, and husband, Jim, of Midlothian, Va; son, Carl Herndon and Claudia Hawkins of Baton Rouge, La., sister, Jean Spradlin of Norton; nephews, Ben Spradlin (Rhonda), Clay Spradlin (Nicole), Stewart Spradlin (Tamrya), Jim Talley (Val), and niece Jan Talley, along with many other beloved family members and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Norton. Family and friends are also invited immediately following the memorial service to a reception at the Church to further celebrate Bob’s life.
