WILLIAM R. GREENE

Chief Warrant Officer William R. (Bill) Greene, 94, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Norton Community Hospital Norton, VA. Born to the late C.P. and Roberta Greene, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, Herbert, Daniel, Robert, and Annette.; his first wife, Dorothy Garrett Greene.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Charlene Greene, son, Michael (Sharon) Greene, stepdaughter, Greta (Denny) Miller, granddaughter, Kendra Greene, step grandson, Drew Miller, and two great grandsons, Kyan, and Kaymen, and a sister, Virginia G. Sturgill.

He was an Ordained Baptist Minister, he loved the Army and supported it with life memberships in the following, 1814 Society, MOAA, ROA, AUSA and was among the original founders of the U.S. Army Museum in Fort Belvoir, VA.

After Retirement from the Army, he worked as a field engineer with numerous engineer firms, worked with OSM and was an expert witness for them. His last tour of duty in the Army was Food Advisor to FT Lee and the Quartermaster School. He had three favorite Hymns, How Great Thou Art, The Unseen Hand, and Blessed Assurance. Had a Love of Country Western and Bluegrass Music. If you want to see Bill again, check in with Christ Jesus.
