SHERRY MARCELLA GOLLOWAY

Sherry Marcella Golloway, 71, of Big Stone Gap, went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home in Big Stone Gap, VA.

Born and raised in Appalachia Va. She was a transit driver for MEOC for 20yrs where she retired in 2015. She touched many lives with her kindness and shined her light for all to see.  She was an amazing and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister aunt and friend. Sherry loved spending Time with her family and friends. She was a long time servant of the most high God. Her smile would light up a room and she will be greatly missed by all who came to know her.

She is preceded in death her father, Hubert Lee Summers and mother, Rose Helen Summers; sisters, Virgie Summers, Lily Gardner and Ella Holbrook; her first husband, the father of her 4 oldest children, Curtis Lee Holbrook; her second husband, the father of her 2 youngest children, Robert Lee Golloway; daughter, Amber Joy Golloway and granddaughter, Aryanna Nichole Gracie Holbrook. 

Surviving are her daughters, Tina Lynn Gilley and husband Tim Gilley of Big Stone Gap, Melissa Rose Emershaw of Wise and Charity Mistina Golloway of Big Stone Gap; sons, Shane Holbrook and Dwayne Holbrook of Appalachia; brothers, James “Jc” Summers and wife LuAnn, Hubert “Bud” Summers and wife Marlene; sisters, Virdie Summers, Maggie Heichberg, Valencia “Lancy” Stablein and husband Dave and Lou Ella Summers; grandchildren, Erica Webb, Robert “Dalton” Emershaw, Curtis Holbrook, Taylor Holbrook, Briar Holbrook, Dylan Holbrook, Kaylee Jenkins, Gavin “Seth” Huffman, Bryan Holbrook, Hayden Huffman and Cambree Knowles and a host of other relatives and friends.

Thank you to all her family and friends for all their love and prayers. Thank you to Rev. Curtis Flanary, Sturgill Funeral Home and Caris Healthcare. Thank you God for watching over our mother all these years. She will now have a new mind and body in Heaven.

Memorial services for Sherry Golloway will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Curtis Flanary officiating. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
