TROY VERNER STALLARD
Troy Verner Stallard, 96, of Norton, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at his home on Guest River.
Troy proudly served his country and was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired coal miner from Westmoreland Coal Company. He was of primitive Baptist faith and a member of Little Stoney Gap Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Creed Francis and Edna Bolling Stallard; two sisters, Pauline Roberts and Doris Bolden; two brothers, Creed Elmo Stallard and Don Gene Stallard.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Cleo Niece Stallard; children, Larry (Teresa) Stallard, Teresa (Allen) Collins, Darrell Stallard, Jimmie (Crea) Stallard, Deborah (David) Boles; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Garnell Bateman, Rudell Bateman and Wanda Cressey.
Funeral services for Troy Stallard will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 4 at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise with Elder Aaron Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of services. Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5 in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap.
