BETTY LOU HALL SALYER

Betty Lou Hall Salyer, 95, of Wise Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at her residence. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Betty volunteered at Wise Appalachian Regional Hospital for several years. She was a devoted Christian, loved working in her garden and was a member of the garden club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Oferl Salyer, Sr; daughter, Shelby Salyer; sons, Monty Clay Salyer, Sr and Edward Oferl Salyer, II; grandson, Edward Oferl Salyer, III; parents, Hobert and Lillian Hall Sr.; sister, Elaine Lawson and brother, James Hall.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Salyer Mullins and husband Gary; grandchildren, Melissa Kozakowski, Eddie Mullins, Tina Bolling, Justa Cantrell, Monty Clay Salyer, II and Dustin Sean Sayler; great-grandchildren, Nehemiah Britton, Skye Dotson, Isiah Salyer, Cole Salyer, Dalton Salyer, Bre Clark, Hannah Beth Salyer, Jude Salyer, Hattie Grace Salyer, and Brynn Elise Salyer; sisters, Coleen Peters, Mona Gale McDonald and Barbara Reisen; brothers, Sonny Mac Hall and Ralph Spencer Hall and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. 

Funeral services for Betty Lou Salyer will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel Wise, VA with Rev. Blair Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
