PATRICIA DIANE ADDINGTON

September 23, 2021

Patricia Diane Addington, 63, of Wise, went home to be with her Savior on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

Diane was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone. She loved sewing, cooking, and shopping on-line, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Diane was a hard-working, dedicated, smart, fun, feisty woman with a heart of gold. She was devoted to her family and raised them with unconditional love. Her commitment to them was extraordinary, investing time and love and filling their lives with laughter.

As a devoted mother and mamaw, her family meant the world to her and she was always there for them. Diane enjoyed the simple things in life and rarely indulged in anything extravagant for herself. She was a beautiful soul with a love and compassion for people and a remarkable life of giving and sharing and she will be truly missed. Even though she is no longer with us, her eternal spirit will remain in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Stanley and Bea Stanley; brothers, Bill Earl, Jimmy and Bobby Joel Stanley; brother-in-law, Gene Strouth.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Danny Addington; daughter, Alicia Shanté, son, Damien Neil; granddaughters, Phoenix and Ciara; brothers, Tommy and wife Greta, Don and wife Jedena and David Stanley; sisters, June Strouth and husband Jerry, Carolyn Strouth and Betty Robinson and husband Brent; her loving dog Molly; sisters-in-law Shirley Stanley, Medina Stanley, Kathy Stanley and Karen Barner; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Diane Addington will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25 at Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise with the Rev. Allen Graham officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at a later time with her nephews Ashley, Michael, Wesley, Bobby, Shannon, Travis, and Merle serving as pallbearers.
