‘Earned, Not Given’ rotating exhibit at C. Bascom Slemp Memorial Library
The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park announces a new rotating exhibit “Earned, Not Given,” at the C. Bascom Slemp Memorial Library in Big Stone Gap. The exhibit will run through Thursday, Oct. 29.
The exhibit will focus on the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. The “Earned, Not Given” exhibit features photographs and documents from the museum’s collections and highlights the important story of how the people of Southwest Virginia played a part in the ground-breaking events.
