Fall Fling won’t happen in 2020

The 42nd annual Wise County Famous Fall Fling has been canceled.

Organizers announced Monday that the Wise Business Association had decided to cancel the event “in light of the current public health crisis and with the best interests of our community and region in mind.

“Due to the unique nature of this event bringing thousands together from across the region to the heart of Wise County — as well as bringing together our business community, schools, clubs, civic organizations, and churches — we could not in good conscience put our community at risk by holding the festival,” organizers said in a press release. “Though difficult, we stand by our decision, as we hope it will go a long way toward contributing to the ultimate safety of the residents of Wise County and the greater region.”
