Virgie Greear, formerly of Coeburn, VA, died peacefully in her sleep on May 19, 2020.

She is preceded in death by her parents Roy Lee and Laura Craiger, her late husband of 42 years, Franklin Greear, and beloved son, Norman Greear.

Survivors include her daughters, Kay (Dennis) Stout of Blountville, TN, Wanda (James) Miller of Lugoff, SC, Patty (Clarence) Grills of Kingsport, TN, sons, Ray (Marchelle) Greear, Harold (Michelle) Greear, Travis (Keisha) Greear of Coeburn, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, siblings Reverend Ray (Norma) Craiger, Ira Craiger, Rosie (Tony) McGuire, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Virgie was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She had a gracious spirit and passed along to all who knew her the joy of serving God. Her kind and appreciative spirit extended beyond human life to nature and the wonder of all God’s creations. Her grandchildren often express how much she taught them about appreciating the many miracles of life. Her children will forever bear her legacy of love and nurturing.
