What does life have in store for us?

by BY BILL HENDRICK Staff Writer

Looking back over the past 100 years, do you ever wonder what it’s going to be like during the next millennium?

Me, I think back about 110 years ago when the early 1900s began.

They didn’t watch the ball drop in Times Square in New York because there was no television.

It’s frightening to think what’s happened over the past 100 years.

Can you imagine our lives without the automobile?

What did folks do before we had television? (I can remember that one!)

How did America function without the telephone?

Or electricity?

Think how life was when they had ice boxes and had to have ice delivered everyday!

I can remember the old rippled washboards which were a long way from modern washers and dryers.

I can also remember when they had to wash dishes by hand!

And how in the world did we grow up without cell phones? Or an I-Pod?

And electric razors, hairdryers, airplanes, fax machines, laser printers and computers?

Can you imagine what someone would say if you told them a hundred years ago that a man would walk on the moon?

It’s kind of scary to think what life has in store for our children and grandchildren in the 21st century!

Maybe even for us, if we have that much time left!
