BOBBIE FARMER
Bobbie Lou Farmer, 87, of Norton, died Thursday, August 11, 2022, at her home.
She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Norton and was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Wise. Bobbie taught in the reading lab at Norton Elementary School for 25 years. She was a daughter of the late Howard Paul Flanary and Elizabeth Kate Cox Flanary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Farmer and a brother, Jim Flanary.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Hutchinson and her husband Butch of Norton and Deanna Jarman and her husband Tony of Cincinnati, Oh.; two sons, Sam Farmer and his wife Cindi and Steve Farmer and his wife Cathy, all of Norton; eight grandchildren, Greg Hutchinson, Elora Hutchinson, Jayda Hutchinson, April Jarman, Cory Harris, Ashley Farmer, Hunter Farmer and Andrew Farmer; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Salyer and her husband Myron and Margaret Meade all of Nickelsville; sister-in-law, Barbara Flanary of Kingsport, Tn.; two brothers, John Flanary and his wife Jayne of Roanoke and Chuck Flanary and his wife Reba of Kingsport, Tn.; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12–1 pm Friday, August 12 at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Winters officiating. A private burial will be at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap.
