NEW BOTTOM & HIGH PRESSURE WATER LINE

REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Separate sealed Bids for the construction of the New Bottom & High Pressure Water Line Replacement Project will be received by Fred Luntsford, Town Manager, in its offices at 508 W. Main Street, Appalachia, Virginia 24216 until 3:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, August 30th, at which time the Bids received will bepublicly opened and read aloud.

The project will replace existing waterlines throughout the Town's service area and consist of the following:

The installation of approximately 5,238 linear feet (L.F.) of 8-inch water line, 4,648 L.F. of 6-inch water line, 360 L.F. of 1-inch water line, 1,910 L.F. of 3/4" water service line, eight (8) fire hydrants, eighty-one (81) water service reconnections, two (2) pressure reducing control valves and associated appurtenances.

Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis.

Prospective Bidders may examine and obtain the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 am - 5:30 pm and Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Prospective Bidders may also examine copies of the Bidding Documents provided by the Issuing Office at the locations identified below.

Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of $200.00, (non-refundable) for each set. Contractors have the option to purchase an electronic set of bidding documents (Adobe PDF Format) for a $50.00 non-refundable fee. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to The Lane Group, Inc. Upon request and receipt of the document deposit indicated above plus a non-refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, August 16th, in the Town of Appalachia Council Chambers, 508 W. Main Street, Appalachia, Virginia 24216. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged; however, it is not mandatory.

Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
