J.W. Construction Company, Inc. of P.O. Box 2470, Wise, VA 24293, is applying to the Virginia Energy Mined Land Repurposing program for a revision to the Permit No. 1102356. The revision proposes to add 16.48 acres of additional area in Birchfield Creek, approximately 4 miles North of Wise on Route 635 on the Pound Quadrangle at N 3,560,575.1400 E 10,296,445.1600. The revision area lies on Birchfield Creek. The area is shown on the Revision Map in Section 21.2 of the application.

Drainage from the added area will be discharged to Birchfield Creek. Discharge locations are shown on the Surface Water Hydrology Map in Section 21.2. All 4 outfalls are existing and no new ones are proposed.

Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely by this proposed revision or an officer or head of any federal, State or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of July 29, 2022 submit written comments or objections concerning this application and may also request, in writing, that the Mind Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
