ROBERT WOODWARD

Robert (Bob) George Woodward, age 81, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home in Coeburn, Virginia.

He moved to the United States in 1972 from Cirencester England. He worked at Hagy’s Auto Body until retirement in 1998 then dedicating most of his time as a volunteer with the Health Wagon in Wise, VA. When not working to aid the community and enjoying time with family and friends he loved sitting quietly bird watching, and traveling. As a dedicated member of Sandy Ridge Old Regular Baptist Church his personality will leave a lasting impact with those he conversed with. Bob was known for his skills and mentorship in auto body repair and customization. However, If known for accomplishments or personal impact Bob lived a life as a man who improved those surrounding him, A man we are all to be thankful for.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Robert and Evelyn Kate Woodward, his first wife Joyce Irene Woodward, Brothers, George Vizor, Ron Vizor, Nigel Woodward; brother-in-law Tommy Boone; mother-in-law Anna Mae Meade.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years Shirley Bise Woodward, daughter Jayne Woodward Sluss, Son in law Gregory Sluss, and grandchildren Corporal Matthew Sluss USMC and Nicholas Sluss; sister-in-law Barbara Boone; nieces and nephews Tim Boone & wife Amy and their children Lexi, Ana Bel, Logan, Danielle Roberts & husband Chad and their children Emma Roebrts, and Justin Mullins & wife Becky and their children Ava, Ryan “Slick”.

Private funeral services for family and friends will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, January 14, 2022, from the Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Danny O'Quinn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Health Wagon in Coeburn, VA.
