Virus caution closes revenue office

July 14, 2020

Wise County Commissioner of Revenue Doug Mullins has temporarily closed his office because of a COVID-19 concern.

In a Monday morning email, Mullins told other county officials that the office would be closed that day and “until further notice as a safety caution for colleagues and taxpayers.”

Staff “experienced ‘indirect contact’ with an individual” who was directly exposed to a COVID-19 case, Mullins explained. “We will await test results for the individual who has been quarantined before making a decision concerning office operations. Our full staff will resume telework effective this morning at 8:30 a.m. We all may be reached by e- mail and voicemail.”
