PHOEBE SANDRA WRIGHT COLLINS

Phoebe Sandra Wright Collins, of Norton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at her home.

She was of the Christian Faith, a graduate of JJ Kelly High School and was a retired employee of Wise Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Her love for music started at a very young age. She loved dancing at the Country Cabin, loved singing, and was an avid piano player in which she played for weddings and many other events.

She had enormous, unconditional love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (GGs as she would call them). She never met a stranger and always found the good in everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oakley B. Collins Sr.; son, Christopher Collins; granddaughter, Miranda Clark; grandson, Charles Bronson Clark; parents, James Floyd and Goldie Wright; and three brothers, Gayle (Brother), Goebel and Frank Wright.

Surviving are her daughter, Camellia Clark and husband Smiley of Norton, VA, sons, Oakley B. Collins Jr. and wife Pam of Wise, Jerome Collins and Wendy Bailey of Knoxville, TN and Tim Collins and wife Pam of Norton; grandchildren, Thomas (Amanda) Clark, Josh Collins, Patsy Howell, Joanna McKenzie, Melony and Todd Kyle, Ashley and Wes Sturgill, Austin (Cheyenne) Collins, Christopher Bailey and Hannah Bailey; great-grandchildren, Camden Clark, Sean Smith, Mason Lee, Sasha McKenzie, Lucinda McKenzie, Kailey Kyle, Molly Kyle, Dax Kyle, Jayden Collins, Ava Sturgill, Cadence Collins, Kaylee Relford, Enzlee Relford, and Georgia Relford; a sister, Connie Baker of Big Stone Gap; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Diane Rose and Barbara Mosier with Hospice and Palliative Care for taking special care of our mom.

Private funeral services for Phoebe Sandra Collins will be held at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise with Pastor Darrell Bolling officiating. Burial will be in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Virginia, P.O.
