On Monday, May 18, 2020, Ralph “Butch” Bradley, 76, defeated alzheimer’s and lung cancer and went to be with the Lord in his heavenly home.

Butch was a 1962 graduate of John I. Burton High School where he played football. He was born in Norton but later made his home in Big Stone Gap, Va. He began his career as a radio announcer at WLSD in Big Stone Gap and later worked at WNVA. He was considered the voice of Lonesome Pine District (LPD) sports. Butch was a true entertainer serving as Master of Ceremony at many events. He loved photography, artistry, and gardening.

He was a lifetime member of the Big Stone Gap Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilburn and Clara Bradley, his maternal grandparents, Charles and Mamie Dye, his parents, Ralph and Ruth Bradley and his sister Pat Everhart. He was of the Christian faith.

Surviving are his daughter Allison and husband Jason Culbertson of Simpsonville, SC; grandsons, Ethan and Seth; a son, Nathan Bradley and wife Melissa of Kingsport, Tn.; stepdaughter, Claree and husband Minh Nguyen of Foristell, MO; a brother Freddie Bradley and wife Susie of Norton; special nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Fultz Jr. officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 22 at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to travel in procession to the cemetery.
