LOUISE BLACKWELL

Frances Louise Blackwell, 93, died Saturday, April 20. 2024, at Norton Community Hospital. She was a member of the Brides of Christ Church in Big Stone Gap, Va. and enjoyed singing gospel music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Essie Blackwell, Jr.; two sisters, Nancy McFalls and Betty Stidham; and a son, Wayne Scott.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas O’Neill and Marvin O’Neill, both of Norton, VA; a daughter, Jennifer O’Neill Pendleton of Norton, VA; four grandchildren, Michelle Freeman of Norton, VA, Doug Scott of Rural Retreat, VA, Jessica Scott Clark of Norton, VA; Travis Smith of Florida; nine grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Judy Donnells of Roanoke, VA; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Scott of Norton, VA; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, John Keith McFalls of Wise, VA.

The family will receive friends from 11 am until 1 pm Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Hagy& Fawush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Glenda Flanary officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, VA.
